"J" seals are the standard on intermodal or shipping containers as they are fitted to the doors with seal retaining strips and rivets and they permit the maximum possible door aperture on container designs (useful for fitting in as much possible on pallets etc). These are also fitted to many offshore or DNV2.7-1 containers made in Asia. "J" seals are more difficult to fit and over time the rivet holes can lead to door corrosion and seal/door stiffness.
The choice of door gear model depends on end frame and door design and the test requirements for the end wall and racking loads. We will be pleased to give detailed advice, but the following points should be considered:
-Door gear can be supplied as loose parts (without tube) or fully welded ready for immediate fitting.
-All the standard loose kits are listed (please contact us if you can’t find the one you need)
-Material, mild steel or stainless steel
The choice of hinges, brackets and associated parts depends on end frame and door design and the test requirements for end wall and racking loads. We will be pleased to give detailed advice, but the following points should be considered:
-Forged steel door hinges can usually only be welded to the doors.
-Finish, self colour, zinc plated or galvanised are available.
-Nylon (A), (B) & (D) or phosphor bronze (C) bushes are available.
In this section we offer corner castings and ISO/DNV container associated items like inter connectors, twist locks, stacking fittings, lockboxes and vents etc. We will be pleased to give detailed advice, but the following points should be considered:
-Are corner castings intended for use on ISO containers only? If so ISO 1161 is applicable only.
-If corner castings are for use on DNV2.7-1/2/3 or ISO/DNV unit’s additional certification is required. All corners castings supplied by Bloxwich come with this as standard.
-If corner castings are fitted to DNV or ISO/DNV units they cannot be lifted offshore with shackles through them.
